- We do the work
Storm damage checks
Some roof damage is hard to see from the ground. Our inspection photos show the shingles, flashing and other areas we check.
Shingles and ridge caps
Missing, lifted or creased shingles, loose ridge caps, and bare spots where granules have washed off.
Flashing, vents and pipe boots
We check where the roof meets chimneys, walls and vents. Leaks can start here after high winds.
Gutters, attic and ceilings
Granules in the gutters, wet or stained decking in the attic, and new stains on the ceilings below.

Emergency roof tarping: keeping the water out first
A secured tarp gives an exposed roof temporary cover while it awaits repair.

Building back stronger: FORTIFIED roofs
TPC is FORTIFIED Certified. If your roof needs replacing, you can ask for it to be built to the FORTIFIED standard.
FORTIFIED is a building standard from the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS). A FORTIFIED roof is built to hold up better in high wind and heavy rain.
- The roof deck is fastened down more securely.
- The deck is sealed, to help keep water out if shingles blow off.
- Edges and shingles are rated for high wind.
- An independent evaluator checks the work, and IBHS issues a certificate for the home.
Some insurers offer a discount for a FORTIFIED roof. Ask yours what applies to your policy. More about the standard at fortifiedhome.org.
Insurance questions
Your insurer decides what’s covered
TPC documents your roof damage and explains the repairs.
Check your policy
Your roof’s age can affect your insurance, and coastal policies often carry a separate storm deductible.
Be wary of big promises
No roofer can promise what your insurer will pay, and no roofer should offer to cover your deductible.
